Skaterboy

I love this photograph.

I love the way the sun lies across the arms and legs, and I really like the definition of the muscles in the skater's arms and back.

I was delighted to find a skateboarding competition at one of our local parks this summer. I would relish the opportunity of taking more photographs of several of the guys who took part as the standard was quite high, and the tricks were regular and stunning. The participants were all very friendly, and clearly enjoyed the event as much as I did, although obviously they put a lot more energy into it than I did!

[If you are in this picture or know this skater please feel free to contact me to at least get prints from that day, or let me know about other events.]

excellent photo - has to be the best yet.

how about this for a quote

Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die

Born to be wild

but you may find a much better one.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad people seem to be enjoying seeign a little bit of my world.

I would be terrified to try what these guys were doing - I'd probably break an ankle at the very least!

mll - yes, it was very much like watching a dance with some of the most experienced skaters.
